This is The Crofter with his land-rover and trailer. Its a nice machine and it took him all the way to Stirling to pick up Mclaren the boar and another piggy. Only it didn't make it back. Something underneath that is important to make the thing work fell off and it stopped! Luckily, Mr Crofter has some good friends and once he got the L-R to a repair garage, his pal hitched up the trailer avec porcus and took him back to Ullapool where The Crofter had a bit of shut-eye with the beast in the trailer. Dad Crofter will be using his bus-pass to go and get the L-R soon :-)

Pig and Piggy back home again.
Pig makes her weary way homeward after a hard session ....... 'heavy petting' shall we say.

Mclaren has arrived. If you open your windows you can probably hear him chasing the sows around his new home, getting all hot and bothered and frothing at the mouth. He's a big Saddleback boar I can tell you, tusks and everything. And he seems able to do the job he was bought for too. Felt I was watching a porn movie out on the croft at one time. In fact we could have made one if Dad crofter had stayed bent over consoling Pig for a bit longer but he saw Mclaren out the corner of his eye, heard us falling around in helpless laughter and moved swiftly to one side. Pity, we could have made a fortune - only my little film camera does not do movies! Apart from that, we could have made a fortune - or at least dined out on the tale for a while.

In the end Pig and Piggy wanted to go home to their old sty without Mclaren and that's what they did. Turk wasn't impressed and neither was the Scottish Grey cockerel [aka 'Killer' because of his propensity for murderous tendencies.] I might add that Scots Greys are an endangered species and this little fella certainly is if he carries on like this!!!

However, if you would like some Saddleback piglets, one of the sows in preggers and is due July time. And the other sows shouldn't be far behind the way Mclaren is going !

A final brush.
A final towelling of Mr Crofters fine features
Proper smart shoes and everything

Obviously, a trip to the mainland requires careful coiffuring. Not to mention a wash to rid oneself of pig-poo, cow-excreta and other dubious substances. Mr Crofter scrubbed up real nice. Looked quite the gentleman crofter he really is. No doubt he'll make a fine impression on them mainlanders.

Peggy. As promised.

Busy day today. What with catching the sheeplettes, dagging them, dosing them then putting them in their mobile home for a quick trip out to the moor, the little lambs were a tad confused. Still, they still coped well enough.

Dad Crofter surveys all that torments him.

Whilst we are still bickering about who the government should be, The Crofter has had two late additions to the family of sheeps. One of the little critters - Peggy - has a natty little splint Mr Crofter Sir put on her front paw that was weak as a result Mr Crofter thinks - of a difficult birth. A photo will follow soon.

The weather is being somewhat contrary with a cold wind blasting down the island which today brought a smattering of snow again! The Veg are coming on nicely in the poly-tunnel though and some surplus tomato plants might just make their way home to Cragro Towers :-)
