Homeless Turks

I dreamt a lot last night. So much so it woke me up at 3 am and I didn't want to go back into sleep and that dream. You see I dreamt i was homeless. No home, no loving partner and no money. A bit of a nightmare really and something I hope I'll never experience.

Down at t'croft, the turks are experiencing a little of my dream and I felt for them. Their sty has been dismantled [before it fell down] and a new shed was being built. Bits of wood and wrinkled iron [the new sort] lay thereabouts, hammering filtered up the village as The Crofter persuaded another nail into the wood.

Up, up and away

Seems like the new shed is much bigger than the last - and it's not for the poor turks either. Their new home will be built later. Apparently, Mr Crofter Sir will be using hay rather than silage this next year for the coows as it keeps better - if indoors. Hence the big shed!

Family building Co.

I think Mr Crofter likes building things. There has been three incarnations of chicken houses in the last four years for example. The coow sheds change shape most years and sometimes location too. And don't get me started about the pig hutches either!

Apologies for the lack of recent updates. No, it's not all over here yet, I've just been away and busy. Will try and get going again.

The Crofters are fine - saw them this morning and the usual chaos is happening :-)

Guard Troop
The usual suspect

They are all there. Just have not snapping them up. Just playing with cameras that don't work. I'm back now.

Over Rovered

The Crofter seems to have acquired a new high-powered mobile chicken shed. 4.3 litres worth I'm told. It doesn't work of course but it is shiny - and that's important. And it does have an engine although at the time of writing we are not sure it works. Never mind, the seats are lovely.

It joins Lucy - who you can see top left, the Pimped-up-Mobile next to Lucy, the old [newer but rusty] Land-Rover seen here attached to the new chicken-shed by a wire, the yellow van on t'croft being used as a shed, the quad,  and the digger. Eh? You just cannot have enough toys when you are a crofter.

No doubt The Crofter will be glued to the TV as the rain falls outside watching the TDF. He loves it!. I haven't been down for a day or two but rest assured the animules are doing fine.

 The Watsons meets Crofter's Mum

It seems ages ago that the Watsons came up to visit. Like good hosts I took them to see the piggies down on t'croft. Seeing Mr Crofter Sir is from Yorkshire and so are the Watsons, they almost speak the same language too. and it was sunny then.

Chickens in a big hutch.

It's still sunny. It is on the island anyway although the mist has been cloaking the village for the last two days. At least it's a tad cooler.
