The Crofters were just preparing for a minor expedition when I came across them the other day. Emily had decided the sheeps needed feeding so Mum got her up in her modern sedan chair, sorted Dad out with some food in buckets and off they went. The sun was shining and a little warmth bathed them as they sauntered down the field to the sheeps.
Oh, how lovely it was. Emily smiled and pointed the way for Mum and Dad.
Of course Emily was right, the sheeps found and fed and the sun enjoyed.
On the Isle of Lewis off the west coast of mainland Scotland lies a croft inhabited by an English off-comer. His Mum and Dad live nearby and help him run the croft. This is a photographic record of their lives as it unfolds.
